Joomla WordPress Accounts Moved
Written by Herbert-Jan van Dinther

I logged in to my WordPress.com account this week to find out what was happeing with my old blogs seo4joomla.wordpress.com and joomloblogging.wordpress.com as they are deactivated.

Because I also have an Dutch account for WordPress.com (that is back online) I found out that my Joomla SEO website www.pathos-seo.com has been black listed by WordPress.com

Every blog on wordpress.com that has a link to that site is automaticly deactived.

Because those blog are not as active as before I exported the blogs and imported them on a new domain http://www.seo4blogs.com only thing left is to upload the images again.

Premium Joomla Templates
Written by Herbert-Jan van Dinther

There are several places were you can find great Premium Joomla Templates, like Joomlashack, ThemeForest and JoomlArt for example. And don't forget RocketTheme.

Most of them have Free themes as well that you can use, but you have to keep the link to their website active and the functionality will be limited.

Why Premium Joomla Tamplates?

The answer to that is two fold, first because of the functionality, but also for the support and documentation.

Both support and good documentation will help you get the most out of your purchase as it will help you to setup the layout of your site faster than when you have to figure it out yourself.

Premium templates will almost always come with extra functionality like for example extra color schemes, extra module positions, special homepage features like sliders and much more...

Pricing of Premium Templates

Joomla premium templates come in all different prices and licenses, so be sure to read the license before you purchase!

Prices range from 15 to around 40 Dollar on ThemeForest, and around 47 to 50 Dollar on Joomlashack.

Template clubs like RocketTheme charges 50 Dollar for 60 Days access and you can use any template you want but on just one installation! But it's a great option if you want to try out more templates. Joomlart starts also at 50 dollar for 3 months access and for one domain only.
Theme and Template Clubs are the best option for you if you want a broad selection of templates to try and see how they fit on your site.

Quality of Premium Templates

As with everything in life, you get what you pay for, Joomla Templates are no exception.

However it is good to check out the options and see which template you like best for your site, and please remember that this layout will last several years! Most of the sites I have worked on in the previous years have an average live cycle of about 4 tot 5 years before a redesign takes place. Some will last longer, so the basic design of your site will cost you like 10 Dollar per year... most of you will pay that amount on a monthly base to you Hosting provider.

A word Of Warning for Premium Joomla Templates

You might be looking for those premium templates on file sharing sites and free download sites, but please be aware of the fact that

  • you won't get any support from the developer
  • you are using the template without a legal license
  • you don't know which malicious files might be added to the installation files...

If you think that will never happen to you, think again.... I have found several of these installation when doing SEO work on Joomla websites that were banned from Google for spreading malicious software without the owner of the site knowing about it. Getting a site like that back into Google takes a lot of work and a reinclusion request that might take weeks or months before it resulted in new traffic.

Think about what that could do to your site or business...

So choose your layout and resource wisely and remember that it will last several years. Have fun selecting that Premium Joomla Template for your site!
